"You can't pour from an empty cup!"
I don’t know if this would qualify as a "stay-cation", but to me it does and that's what counts! After working non-stop Sunday-Sunday as a wedding photographer, along with handling home & social life can be so tiring. I realized I was not putting a boundary in my work/life schedules, and everything was coming together. Self-care has become an important part of my life, and setting boundaries plays a huge role in this.
So I wanted to share with you my self-care routine to decompress:
- Wake up before anyone else & make a cup of coffee.
- Sit by a window and let the first bit of daylight through, sip my coffee, & read some affirmations. (This sets my day off to a great start, for some it may putting on makeup, or going to their favorite coffee place, but for me this is what gives me energy and makes me feel productive.)
- Exercise for an hour.
- Do something creative, a DIY, a photoshoot, paint, play video games, etc.
- Organize your home/space. (I don’t know about you, but I get anxious and stressed when my space is out of order or messy.)
These are just some examples of what I do to recharge and decompress stress/anxiety throughout the week. Hope it inspires some ideas for you as well. Remember "You can't pour from an empty cup!"
